01. The current service
StreamShorts is developed and operated by the StreamShorts Team. These terms cover this website and use of the desktop software made available by the developer. By using the application, you agree to these terms. Read the Privacy Policy to understand how information is handled. These terms do not replace applicable law or create consent to data uses that require a separate choice.
The software helps identify candidate highlights, adjust clip boundaries and layouts, draft captions and metadata, and render video files. The software is currently intended only for the developer's personal use and development testing. It is not offered for general public use or as a commercial SaaS service. Any access specifically arranged for an auditor or reviewer is for evaluation, not a public launch. Permission to evaluate a private copy does not grant permission to sell, sublicense or publicly redistribute the developer's proprietary code, branding or website materials. Third-party and open-source components remain governed by their own licenses; nothing here removes rights those licenses grant.
We may offer the software as a hosted software-as-a-service (SaaS) product in the future, after further improvements, testing and preparation for public use. A launch is not guaranteed and no release date is promised. Any future service will have its own published availability, features, pricing, usage limits and applicable terms before users enroll.
02. Your content and your decisions
You retain ownership of your recordings and edits. Use only content you own or have the rights and permissions to process and publish, including any music, voices and imagery in it. Access to a link or ownership of a channel does not remove other rights or platform restrictions.
You are responsible for selecting sources, checking edits, confirming captions, setting accurate metadata and audience settings, and deciding whether and when to publish. Review consent and automation settings before enabling unattended actions. Keep backups of important source files and exports. Obtain any necessary consent from people whose voices, images or personal information appear in material you process. An automatically suggested clip or caption is not a decision that the content is lawful, accurate or suitable for publication.
03. What automated editing can and cannot do
Suggestions are automated starting points. They can miss interesting moments, include ordinary gameplay or cut before an event finishes. Speech recognition can be wrong, particularly with overlapping voices, game audio and mixed languages. Captions are withheld by default until you review them.
Titles and tags are editable starting points. We do not guarantee transcription accuracy, complete gameplay moments, audience growth, views, ranking, monetization or any particular financial result. Processing time and memory use depend on your hardware, source material and settings.
04. Optional YouTube integration
The application uses YouTube API Services. By using the API client, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's processing is explained in its Privacy Policy.
Connecting a YouTube channel is strictly optional. Highlight detection, editing, caption generation and local video exports do not require a YouTube connection. Choosing not to connect does not prevent use of those editing features. Publishing requires your authorization, valid credentials, quota and the relevant project eligibility. Uploads from unaudited projects are restricted to private; our interface cannot grant YouTube approval. Public publishing and scheduling are subject to YouTube's rules, availability and processing.
You authorize the actions you select or explicitly configure. You can pause future publishing, cancel eligible queued work and revoke access. An upload already accepted by YouTube or a schedule already registered there may continue independently of this app; verify its status in YouTube Studio.
You must follow YouTube's Community Guidelines and applicable content rules. Do not use the app to circumvent access restrictions, quotas, copyright protections or enforcement. The optional link importer does not confer permission to download; YouTube's API policies require prior written approval for an API client to download or store YouTube audiovisual content.
05. Subscriptions and fees
No paid subscription is currently offered on this website. There is no checkout, recurring billing or payment collection in this preview.
A future subscription, if launched, would charge for our independent highlight detection, editing, caption generation and rendering service. Optional YouTube uploading is intended to be included at no additional charge, and connecting a channel would not be required to use the editing service.
Any future price, processing allowance, storage limit, taxes, renewal, cancellation and refund terms will be presented before purchase. A discussed or proposed price is not an active offer. Existing preview access does not enroll you in future billing.
06. Responsible use
You are responsible for your content and how you use the software. You must comply with applicable law, intellectual-property and privacy rights, and the rules of any platform to which you publish. Do not use the software to distribute unlawful content, infringe copyright, impersonate another person, access accounts without permission or compromise anyone's security.
The developer does not authorize or endorse illegal activity. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not responsible for unlawful content or misuse independently carried out by a user, or the resulting claims, platform penalties or losses. This provision does not excuse the developer's own unlawful conduct or exclude any responsibility or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Do not send the developer your Google password or upload credentials to this website.
Protect your local OAuth credentials and authorize only channels you are entitled to manage. The website and developer do not offer a way to bypass Google's authorization process. Third-party tools and libraries remain subject to their own licenses and terms.
Do not use the software for harassment, deceptive impersonation, non-consensual intimate content, distribution of malware or abuse of another person's data. We may decline further review access or support if we reasonably believe it is being misused. Suspected misuse or infringement can be reported through the contact options below; describe the issue and provide only the information needed to investigate, without sending passwords or tokens.
07. Availability and responsibility
This is evolving software provided on an as-available basis. Features may change, fail or require updates as dependencies and external services change. An active internet connection is required to use StreamShorts. The app must be running and the computer awake while it processes your recordings.
We do not promise uninterrupted operation or eligibility for any third-party approval. You should verify exports and publication status and keep backups. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not provide warranties beyond those expressly stated; nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to those legal limits, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost revenue or opportunities arising from use of this experimental preview. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law and does not exclude liability for fraud or deliberate misconduct, or override applicable consumer or data-protection rights.
You may stop using the app at any time. Follow the privacy policy's disconnection and deletion steps to remove access and stored local data.
08. Contact and updates
For questions, problems or review access, contact the StreamShorts Team at contact@thestreamshorts.com. Please contact us first if you have a concern so we can try to resolve it. This does not restrict access to courts, regulators or other remedies available under applicable law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
We may update these terms as the service develops and will show the revision date here. A future public or paid service will have its applicable terms available before enrollment.
